15,000 salmon fry were released in Kamchatka as part of the eco-project.

The ecological project “Life for Kamchatka salmon!” has been completed in Kamchatka, the results of which were solemnly summed up at the Malkinsky salmon hatchery.

The initiative to preserve valuable fish species was launched several months ago thanks to the efforts of the Glavrybvod Federal State Budgetary Institution and received support from the governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov. Especially for this, the innovative service “Save the Salmon” was launched on the Kamchatka Territory public services portal. This digital platform has provided an opportunity for everyone to make a financial contribution to the conservation and restoration of the Pacific salmon population by paying for the rearing of a certain number of juveniles.

Mikhail Tsybulenko, head of the Northeastern Branch of the Glavrybvod Federal State Budgetary Institution, said that fifteen participants were among the project leaders. Among them are ten caring residents of the Kamchatka Territory and other regions of Russia, as well as five representatives of the business community who demonstrated their social responsibility.

In addition to financial participation, the project also included a creative component – a logo design competition. Fifty people showed their talents in it, and Timur Cherkinsky was recognized as the winner, whose version best reflected the essence and goals of the initiative.

After the official part, an educational tour of the Malkinsky Fish Hatchery facilities was organized for all the guests. The highlight of the day was a symbolic and ecologically important act – the release into the Klyuchevka River of young salmon raised within the framework of the project. Among the released fish, which is about 15,000 chinook and sockeye salmon, were the juveniles that Glavrybvod restored at its own expense, demonstrating an integrated approach to solving the problem of biodiversity conservation.
