Kamchatka residents can transport cats and dogs from shelters in other cities for free
Aeroflot allowed passengers to carry dogs and cats taken from shelters for free. Applications must be made in advance, the company told Kamchatka.Today.
A social campaign to support homeless animals will be held from March 24 to April 25. Any Aeroflot passenger who has decided to take a pet from a shelter and to whom the airline has confirmed the possibility of transportation on the selected flight will be able to use it.
Free transportation in the baggage compartment or in the cabin of the aircraft under the seat of the forward seat is provided to a cat or dog from any city in Russia where the airline flies.
The animal is transported in compliance with the standard rules for the provision of services published on the airline’s website on flights operated under the SU code on the internal route network.
The application for participation must be sent by April 21 to the Nika Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Homeless Animals. Detailed terms and conditions are posted on the airline’s and the foundation’s social networks.
Pet ambassadors of the airline, Winnie the Pooh the cat and Misha the Alaskan malamute, took part in the information campaign dedicated to the good action. At one time, Misha was taken out of Dagestan, where unscrupulous owners used him as bait for fighting dogs. The puppy ended up in a shelter, from where he was taken away two years ago by twin sisters Katya and Lera, pilots of Aeroflot.
The purpose of the campaign is to promote responsible treatment of pets and reduce the number of stray cats and dogs in the country.
