During the autumn-winter hunting season, which lasted in Kamchatka from September 15 to February 28, the state hunting inspectors of the KGB “Wildlife Protection Service” conducted more than 870 patrols in the hunting grounds of the region, Kamchatka.Today reports with reference to the KGB.

During the season, the hunting of moose, bear, white hare, stone grouse, partridge, fox, otter, mink, sable, ermine and other animal species was allowed.

“Most hunters comply with the norms of hunting legislation, so since the opening of the autumn-winter hunt, 1,519 hunters have been checked, of which only 52 have committed violations of environmental legislation. At the same time, two firearms, five foot traps were seized, and six loops for trapping hares were removed. Hunting products were seized: one moose, two sables and one capercaillie,” Anna Korneeva, Assistant director of the Service, said in a statement.

The Service asks residents of Kamchatka who witnessed illegal hunting to report this by calling 112.
