Kamchatka Bay coast cleared of debris
In Ust-Kamchatsk, an environmental campaign was held to clean up the coast of the Kamchatka Bay within the framework of the Ecoliquidation: Clean Shores project, the administration of the Kamchatka district told Kamchatka.Today.
It is implemented by the autonomous non-profit organization “Our House” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. The event was joined by members of the motorcycle club “Towards the Wind”, as well as active residents of Ust-Kamchatsk. Thanks to their efforts and the use of special equipment, more than three kilometers of coastline were cleared over the weekend.
“To create comfortable conditions for the volunteers, we set up a field camp with all-season tents equipped with stoves and cots, and also set up a kitchen tent, tables and a barbecue. Some of the equipment was purchased as part of the project. Transport logistics was provided by three swamp walkers, a Belarus tractor, a truck and personal transport,” representatives of the non-profit organization said.
The organizers stressed that this is not the last action – in the near future, the cleaning of the Kamchatka Gulf coast will continue.
