Nameless volcano wakes up in Kamchatka

In Kamchatka, in the area of the Nameless volcano, experts have registered 167 seismic events. This is reported by the Kamchatka branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

For observations, scientists use, among other things, video cameras installed at stationary and autonomous points.

“At night, there is a powerful glow of the dome and a continuous descent of incandescent debris avalanches along the southeastern slope of the volcano,” the report says.

The ash column rises to a height of 3,000 meters above sea level. The plume went first to the east, and then to the northeast. The volcano has been assigned an orange aviation danger level.

The height of the Nameless One, adjacent to the Klyuchevskaya volcano, is 2,882 meters. The village of Kozyrevsk is 49 kilometers away. The distance to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is 338 kilometers.
