The Volcanoes of Kamchatka Network of Natural parks, together with the Kamchatka Exhibition and Tourism Center, marked the tourist route along the Sukhoi River in the Nalychevo Nature Park. These measures have been taken to improve the safety of visitors. Financial support in the installation of information full houses was provided by representatives of the tourism business organizing tours to the Avachinsky pass.
Evgeny Anenkov, inspector of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka Nature Park, explains that the marking is necessary to separate the general route along the Sukhoi River. This is done to avoid conflict situations between drivers of wheeled vehicles with certified ultra-low pressure tires and snowmobilers. He adds that information signs now mark particularly dangerous areas along the tourist route.
Earlier, the Volcanoes of Kamchatka network of nature parks had already opened a new winter route “To Avachinsky Pass and Camel extrusion: winter on wheeled vehicles”. Only vehicles equipped with certified ultra-low pressure tires are allowed to travel along it.
This route is open to the public annually, but the exact timing of its operation may be adjusted. Decisions on opening and closing are made based on current weather conditions and the presence of circumstances that may pose a threat to the safety of tourists.
