The law “On certain issues in the field of tourism in the Kamchatka Territory” was adopted at the 48th session of the Legislative Assembly of the region on May 27. The regulatory legal act establishes priority areas for the development of tourism and measures of state support for this sector of the economy, the regional parliament told TASS.
“The new law defines the main tasks in the field of tourism in the Kamchatka Territory. These are the creation of a modern tourism industry, its systematic development, rational use and conservation of tourist resources, increasing the flow of tourists from Russia and abroad, ensuring their safety, and more. The law also defines priority areas for the development of tourism in the Kamchatka Territory, delimits the powers of the state authorities of the Kamchatka Territory to create favorable conditions for the development of tourism in the region. The law defines the directions of state support for this sector of the economy and its information support,” the press service quoted Irina Untilova, Vice Speaker of the regional parliament, as saying.
It is specified that the purpose of the new document is to improve the legislative regulation of issues in the field of tourism in the Kamchatka Territory. Simultaneously with the adoption of the law “On certain issues in the field of tourism in the Kamchatka Territory”, the regional law “On State support for the development of tourism activities in the Kamchatka Territory”, adopted in 2010, was declared invalid.
