During the May holidays, the team of the Commander Islands National Park repaired the trail and prepared the rookery area for the upcoming season, the press service of the National park told Kamchatka.Today.
In a couple of days, the park staff managed to clean and strengthen the wooden decking, railings and ropes, repaired two observation decks, and replaced a broken full house. A lot of plastic waste has been collected, some of which will be sent for recycling. The recreation area at the glamping was renovated: crushed stone was brought in, a fire pit was set up and a supply of firewood was made. The park staff also reinforced the glamping dome.
“Soon, seals and sea lions will start returning to the rookery — the first ones have already been spotted in the ocean,” park employees said in a telegram channel.
