The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the region has inspected the elimination of the oil spill in the area of the village of Sosnovka, Yelizovsky district, Kamchatka.Today reports.
According to the agency, an environmental violation was committed during the construction of the transmission line. According to preliminary information, the contractor poured fuel onto the soil during the maintenance of heavy tracked vehicles.
After troubleshooting, the workers collected the contaminated soil. The Ministry confirmed the elimination of pollution.
“The future transmission line runs through agricultural lands, as well as in the floodplain of the Bystrica River. In these conditions, compliance with environmental legislation requires special attention,” said Alexey Yurkov, Deputy Minister and Head of the State Environmental Supervision Department.
The Ministry issued a warning to the company about the inadmissibility of violations.
