The region, famous for its dramatic volcanic landscapes and abundant wildlife, is experiencing a notable increase in human-bear encounters near major travel routes.
A recent incident near the base of the Gorely volcano has particularly alarmed park officials. Three bears were spotted in a parking area before proceeding towards a nearby campsite. Eyewitnesses reported that the animals were actively foraging for food, likely drawn by the scent of meals left unattended by tourists, highlighting the growing risks of irresponsible camping practices in the wilderness.
