In Kamchatka, a scandalous pensioner faces time for insulting a judge
The investigation of the case of a 71-year-old resident of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, accused of insulting a judge (Part 2 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), has been completed, the KAMCHATKA-INFORM agency was informed by the Investigative Committee of the Kamchatka Territory.
They said that the pensioner was a representative by proxy of his son when considering a civil case in court to recover debts for housing and communal services from the latter.
“Dissatisfied with the course of the case, the accused made at least four written appeals addressed to the judge, containing humiliating and insulting statements addressed to her, and submitted these appeals to the staff of the court office involved in processing incoming correspondence,” the Investigative Committee said.
And in February 2025, this pensioner, while in the courtroom, disagreed with the judge’s demand to produce an identity document and the subsequent decision to remove him from the courtroom, expressed false and offensive expressions in obscene language to the official administering justice.
The accused fully admitted his guilt.
The criminal case has been transferred to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment and subsequent referral to the court.
