Fifteen graduates of the School of Nature Defenders received certificates and also passed the certification, which gives the right to conduct excursions in specially protected natural areas – in the Kronotsky Nature Reserve and the South Kamchatka Nature Reserve.
The Kronotsky Pro program is designed to provide guides with additional and deeper knowledge.
“This is the first issue of the updated program. Our graduates have gained not only in-depth knowledge, but also the skills to tell a fascinating and accessible story about the natural heritage. It is important that they have learned how to convey to tourists the principles of responsible attitude towards fragile ecosystems,” said Anastasia Kharkov, head of the Project Group “School of Conservationists”.
The intensive course “Kronotsky Pro” lasted two weeks and had a hybrid learning format: online lectures and face-to-face classes.
“We are glad to see motivated specialists among the graduates. These guides will become guides for tourists to the world of protected nature. A lot depends on their work, on how they convey to the guests the importance of preserving unique territories. We wish them success and look forward to visiting the protected areas,” said Vsevolod Yakovlev, Acting Director of the Kronotsky State Nature Reserve.
The first edition of the Kronotsky Profi program increased the total number of certified guides by the School to 180 people. Among the specialists are residents of the Kamchatka Territory and other regions of Russia who are ready to work in the upcoming tourist season in the protected areas of the peninsula.
