Kamchatka cubs celebrated a housewarming party in the Moscow region
Kamchatka cubs who had previously gone to a permanent place of residence in the Pride Land Lions Park near Moscow have moved to a new enclosure, a wildlife shelter told Kamchatka.Today.
There are four brown bear cubs in the shelter. Potapych, Blackberry (known on the peninsula as Vika), Lubava (locally known as Manya) are immigrants from Kamchatka, as well as Nougat from another region of the country. Recently, the park announced a fundraiser to improve the “living conditions” of clubfoot.
Several million rubles for the aviary were collected fairly quickly. And there was even money left for the construction of game towns for the cubs in the future, although they were going to make them on loan.
“The new kids’ home was completely satisfied, especially since the breakfasts remained royal. Thank you for helping the cubs find a new home with great conditions,” the shelter said.
Let us remind you that Kamchatka baby bears (the first year of life) were orphaned. In the wild, they faced certain death. An employee of the Lviv Park came to the rescue, who took the little club-footed ones.
Potapych was the first to pave the road to the Moscow region in November. In December, the little bear Vika-Blackberry joined him. A one-year-old lynx flew away with her, which did not have enough space in the Yelizovsky Zoo, and was not accepted in other parts of the country due to an incorrect jaw bite. In January, Lyubava-Manya joined them.
By the way, the shelter staff was asked on social media why Potapych, who arrived in Tolstoy, lost so much weight, is he starving? The social activists reassured him that everything was fine with him.
“Potapych flew in from Kamchatka in a condition very close to diabetes: he ate too many waffles and sweets. Yes, he was fat. But in his case, it wasn’t good. In a few months, we’ve brought our teddy bear’s health back to normal.
Therefore, do not worry that Potapych’s paws began to appear (previously, due to their plumpness and volume, they were not particularly visible). Everything is fine with him, now he is healthy, eats the right food, lives with friends in safety,” said the Lviv Park.
