The investor will invest three billion rubles in the pearl of Kamchatka

Kamchatka is launching another investment project in the field of tourism infrastructure development — the Pearl of Kamchatka sanatorium and resort complex.

The investor decided to build a sanatorium and resort complex “Pearl of Kamchatka” in the village of Paratunka, Yelizovsky district.

The Thermal Pearl

Paratunka is known for its hot springs. The village is separated from the Pacific Ocean by mountain ranges, so the climate here is more comfortable than in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The complex will include a three-star hotel with 250 rooms, as well as a wellness infrastructure. A small SPA complex with a thermal pool and modular guest houses with 32 rooms will open in the first quarter of this year. In the second quarter of next year, the investor plans to commission the main building, additional guest houses, a restaurant and a large SPA complex with thermal pools.

The total investment in the construction of the resort is estimated at 3 billion rubles, 324 local residents will receive jobs. The complex is designed to serve 146 thousand guests per year.

According to the estimates of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV), after the full launch of the Pearl of Kamchatka, the total number of rooms in the region will grow by 11% and amount to 2.4 thousand.

Treatment near volcanoes

Given the importance of the project, the KRDV concluded an agreement with the investor, and the project received the status of a resident of the Kamchatka Territory of Advanced Development (TOP).

“Guests will have access to high-quality sanatorium services, as well as medical procedures under a medical license. In addition, we will prepare excursion programs, visits to volcanoes and nature reserves, and organize boat trips,” said Gennady Opatsky, General Director of the complex’s management organization.

According to Sergey Moskalev, director of the Kamchatka Regional Medical Center, it is expected that the complex will receive a quota for sanatorium treatment under government programs.

According to the results of last year, Kamchatka received more than 400 thousand tourists. In particular, due to the growth of the number of rooms.

“Currently, 146 tour operators and 196 accommodation facilities of various types are operating in the region. The tourism sector provides employment for more than 9,000 people,” Yulia Morozova, Deputy Chairman of the regional government, told the regional media.

However, for the time being, mostly adherents of non-standard recreation go to the region. They are attracted by natural attractions, as only on the peninsula can you see so many active volcanoes, geysers, and thermal springs in one place.

But this trend is not becoming widespread. One of the reasons is low transport accessibility. The region is critically short of aircraft, and the fleet itself is worn out.
