Environmental authorities in Kamchatka are investigating the operations of sewage disposal vehicles in the city of Yelizovo. The investigation was prompted by a citizen’s report regarding the illegal discharge of wastewater using these vehicles. In response, environmental inspectors conducted on-site verification procedures.
During the inspection, it was discovered that sewage trucks were stationed on the territory of a local enterprise. From these vehicles, liquid household waste was being discharged directly into the underground utility system.
Proceedings are currently underway to determine the legality of this activity, and the vehicle owners are being investigated to confirm whether they hold the appropriate licenses. The legality of the waste disposal process itself on the enterprise’s premises is also under review.
The discharge of liquid household waste directly onto the terrain is strictly prohibited by environmental regulations. The release of wastewater is permitted exclusively into designated water bodies – and only after undergoing mandatory treatment and disinfection. Non-compliance with these requirements carries administrative liability.
