Kamchatka Expands Year-Round Modular Eco-Tourism Infrastructure

A network of year-round modular hotels and glamping sites is being developed near natural landmarks on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The tourism infrastructure development program, scheduled to run until the end of 2026, involves the creation of 37 facilities with a total capacity of 155 beds. The project receives funding through a specialized national initiative.

Contractors have completed work at 18 sites this year. The latest complex opened in October at the Vilyuchinsky Pass – the modular building accommodates eight guests and is equipped with autonomous sanitary facilities. Previously, similar residential units were installed at the Avachinsky Pass, Khalaktyrsky Beach, Mishennaya Hill in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, as well as near Lake Tolmachevo and within the Oikumena eco-park.

An additional 19 complexes, including those near Lake Nachikinskoye and in the Paratunka zone, are currently under construction. The introduction of heated bases compensates for logistical challenges and the significant distances between locations. The availability of equipped rest stops eliminates seasonal constraints, allowing travelers to safely plan extended trips to remote areas of the peninsula.
