An eruption of the Nameless volcano began in Kamchatka

The Nameless volcano in Kamchatka on the night of April 12 spewed ash to a height of 4 km, the ash plume stretched for 90 km. This is reported in the Telegram channel of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“The Nameless volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash 4 km above sea level. The ash plume stretches for 90 km to the north-northeast of the volcano. The volcano’s activity is dangerous for local air travel,” the report says.

As the institution told TASS, we are talking about an eruption that has begun. Prior to that, the volcano’s activity had been gradually increasing for several months. During the day, over 180 seismic events occurred in the area of the giant.

Exactly two years ago, on April 11, 2023, one of the most powerful eruptions of the Nameless volcano occurred in Kamchatka, which led to a significant disruption of the vital activity of the Ust-Kamchatsky municipal district. Currently, scientists do not exclude the possibility of ash emissions up to 15 km above sea level.

Bezymyanny volcano is located 40 km from the village of Klyuchi in the Ust-Kamchatsky district. Its height is about 3 km. It last erupted in July 2024.
