The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kamchatka Territory has cleared an unauthorized waste dump situated on the central embankment of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The site centered around an abandoned metal barrel – located in a frequented public recreation area at the base of Nikolskaya Hill – which had accumulated a significant amount of litter and created an unsanitary environment. Environmental workers have completely removed the refuse and the barrel from the premises.
Following an official inspection of the site, a formal warning will be issued to the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky municipal administration regarding the strict prohibition of violating mandatory environmental protection regulations. The Ministry of Natural Resources continues to urge both local residents and visiting tourists to maintain public sanitation standards and properly dispose of waste using designated municipal bins.
