The autumn phase of an environmental campaign for the collection of used car tires is currently underway in the Kamchatka region. During the first 24 hours of the initiative, local residents delivered approximately 3,600 old tires to collection points – around 1,900 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and 1,700 in the Yelizovsky district.
The campaign aims to gather a total of 40,000 tires during its autumn phase – a quota divided equally between the two municipalities. The collection drive will continue until the planned volume is fully reached. Only passenger car tires are accepted at the facilities. For each tire submitted, citizens receive a compensation of 50 rubles as well as 50 points in the regional KAMball reward system.
Participants must present a passport to process the handover of their used tires. Motorists bringing in up to 15 tires are served with priority and bypass the general queue. Collection points are located at 1 Tundrovaya Street in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and at 20/1 Molodyozhnaya Street in the Novy settlement of the Yelizovsky Municipal District. These facilities operate on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 – with a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00 – and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00, while remaining closed on Sundays.
