Kamchatka motorists have disposed of more than 760 tons of tires in a year

The authorities of Kamchatka summed up the results of the action on the acceptance of automobile tires in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the KAMCHATKA-INFORM agency reports, citing a message from the regional Ministry of Housing and Communal Services.
“During the year, 68,705 car tires were accepted from the population, which amounted to more than 762 thousand kilograms,” the report says.
The campaign for the reception of old tires has been held in Kamchatka for the fourth year in a row. During this time, the organizers have accepted and disposed of more than 325 thousand used tires, which is about 3 million 500 thousand kilograms.
“All accepted tires are sent for recycling for the manufacture of new products, which are then used at municipal improvement facilities and territories of open-type sports complexes,” the report says.
This year, car tires were accepted according to the principle: one passport means handing over no more than 50 tires for the entire period of the promotion. For each, motorists were paid 50 rubles and awarded 50 bonus points according to the KAMball social system.
