Kamchatka residents are ready to abandon plastic tableware
Starting from September 1, Russia will ban the production and use of certain types of PET packaging. The SuperJob job search service found out whether this would cause inconvenience to the residents of the region, Kamchatka.Today reports.
According to the survey, the vast majority of Kamchatka residents (86%) could already give up plastic tableware: 44% are definitely ready for this step, and 42% are more likely to be ready.
Women are more likely than men to support the rejection of plastic tableware. Among young people under 35, 88% are ready to switch to eco-friendly alternatives.
14% of the population is not ready for changes: 7% are categorically against it, and 7% are rather not ready to give up. Their main arguments are convenience and economic accessibility: “Disposable tableware is convenient to use on the train or on a hike”; “What do you propose to replace? Glass, iron?!”.
Recall that almost half of Kamchatka residents support the ban on teenagers’ access to social networks.
