When meeting with this family, it is very important not to disturb the animals, not to come close, so that by the time the rescue operation is carried out, the group does not hide from people and allows rescuers to approach them. Under no circumstances should you dive into the water with the killer whales to free the cub,” the scientists ask.
On July 4 and 5, a family of killer whales with a newborn cub under the age of six months was met in the area of Cape Shipunsky. A ring of packing tape was seen on the body of the newborn killer whale, tightly wrapped around the front of the body. According to biologists, injury is a consequence of the problem of ocean pollution from human waste and poses an immediate threat to the life of the killer whale. “Today, we consider the situation to be consistently negative,” the scientists said in a statement.
