During the week, air passengers exported more than 2 tons of unmarked caviar from Kamchatka
From June 16 to June 22, through Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport (Yelizovo), air passengers exported more than 2.1 tons of caviar without documents, RIA “KAMCHATKA-INFORM” reports.
According to the regional Rosselkhoznadzor administration, on June 16, the agency’s staff stopped an attempt to arrange almost 20 kg of red caviar in the baggage of a passenger on a flight to Vladivostok without labeling and accompanying documents. In particular, he tried to arrange 33 plastic cans of salted caviar with 0.6 kg each in his luggage. The air passenger had to give the excess caviar to the attendant.
The Rosselkhoznadzor department recalled that starting from November 1, 2022, one passenger from Kamchatka is allowed to carry no more than 10 kilograms of non-industrial red caviar in their luggage or hand luggage. The experiment was scheduled to be completed on August 1, 2025, but the Federation Council approved a law extending its validity until August 1, 2027, and Chukotka and Khabarovsk Krai are also included in the experiment.
The restrictions do not apply to legal products.
Since the beginning of the experiment, 470 tons of the delicacy have flown from the peninsula in luggage and hand luggage without the manufacturer’s label. 140 violations were detected during the transportation of an unmarked delicacy with a total weight of almost 1.6 tons.
