Over the past week, personnel from the Federal Agency for Fishery apprehended 132 violators during patrols across water bodies in the Kamchatka region.
During the operations, fishery inspectors seized 183 kilograms of illegally caught fish and 16 kilograms of caviar from the poachers. Authorities also confiscated 14 vehicles and 89 pieces of fishing gear used in the illicit activities.
To combat illegal fishing operations across regional waterways, 27 active task forces are currently deployed. These mobile units are supported by an equal number of stationary monitoring posts – a measure designed to secure the local aquatic ecosystems.
