Kamchatka fish inspectors caught a poacher with a sockeye salmon catch on the Bolshoy River

In Ust-Bolsheretsky district, on the night of July 24, fish inspectors detained an illegal fishing enthusiast during a raid, reported Kamchatka.Today in SVTU FAR.
A resident of the village of Kavalerskoe conducted “fishing” on the Bolshaya River using a boat with an outboard motor and a floating net. The poacher managed to catch 16 sockeye salmon tails. The amount of damage caused to aquatic biological resources exceeds 185 thousand rubles.
The boat, net and illegally obtained red fish were seized. The materials were sent to the police for a decision to initiate criminal proceedings under Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources).
The SVTU recalled a dachshund for poachers. For one specimen of illegally extracted sockeye salmon, regardless of size and weight, they will have to pay 11575, chinook and coho salmon – 10635, chum salmon – 2009, pink salmon – 961, char – 925 rubles. The damage calculation fee for 1 kg of red caviar is 27,455 rubles.
