Kamchatka company fined for illegal use of mineral resources
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Kamchatka Territory has brought the company to administrative responsibility for illegal mining, Kamchatka.Today reports.
According to the court’s decision, the violator must pay a fine of 400 thousand rubles.
The reason for the inspection was information about the work related to the extraction of common minerals in the area of Vostochnoye Highway. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment opened a case under Part 1 of Article 7.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal use of mineral resources”) and conducted an administrative investigation.
During the inspection, the fact of illegal mining was confirmed: the volume of extracted resources, the circumstances of the work and the guilty legal entity were established.
Initially, the ministry imposed a fine of 800 thousand rubles, but after an appeal, the Arbitration Court of the Kamchatka Territory reduced the amount by half, while leaving the decision to prosecute in force.
Recovery of damages and warning to violators
Currently, the Ministry of Natural Resources is considering the issue of recovery of damage caused to the subsoil, which is tentatively estimated at 1.3 million rubles.
