Spetstrans has launched an experimental collection site for construction and bulky waste in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The initiative is designed to reduce the accumulation of renovation debris near residential buildings. Special capsules have been installed for waste collection. Once filled, these containers are sealed and transported whole to a landfill by specialized vehicles. This updated method is expected to significantly simplify the logistics of waste transportation.
The facility accepts various types of renovation debris, including drywall, plaster, wood, plastic windows, old furniture, and cardboard. The disposal fee – set at 1,300 rubles per cubic meter – can be paid directly on-site. However, the facility strictly prohibits the drop-off of tires, mercury-containing lamps, and other hazardous materials.
The new collection point is located at the beginning of Larina Street near the municipal emergency medical station and operates on weekdays from 09:00 to 16:00. Following an evaluation of this pilot project, Spetstrans will determine whether similar waste management sites are required in other districts of the city.
