Residents of Kamchatka are invited to vote for the Pushchinsky keeper of antiquity

This year, the Kamchatka Territory will be represented in the Russian Tree of the Year competition by a stone birch with the literary name “Pushchinskaya Keeper of Antiquity,” Kamchatka.Today reports with reference to the regional Ministry of Forestry and Hunting.
The birch tree grows near the village of Pushchino, its age is not exactly known – in the range from 300 to 560 years. The circumference of the trunk at a height of 1.3 meters is 322 cm. You can vote for the Kamchatka tree number 49 until August 1. The winning tree will receive a certificate for carrying out wellness activities by specialists of the expert center “Healthy Forest”.
The Russian Tree of the Year contest has been held annually since 2017. It involves unique trees from different regions, listed in the National Register of Old—growth Trees of Russia and bearing the status of a “Monument of Wildlife”.
