Kamchatka Court Orders Municipality to Clear Illegal Landfill

The Yelizovsky District Court has ordered the administration of the Pionerskoye rural settlement in Kamchatka to clear a land plot of accumulated waste. An inspection by the Kamchatka Environmental Prosecutor’s Office revealed that an area exceeding 1,300 square meters was covered with municipal solid waste, concrete scrap, and other debris – a direct violation of environmental and land management regulations.

Following these findings, the environmental prosecutor filed a lawsuit demanding that the municipality remediate the territory. The district court ruled in favor of the regulatory body, prompting the local administration to appeal the decision.

The regional court subsequently upheld the original ruling without modification. The judicial act has now entered into legal force – mandating the immediate cleanup and restoration of the affected land.
