Prosecution Seeks 30 Million Rubles Over Illegal Kamchatka Dump

Prosecutors have filed a lawsuit to recover 30 million rubles in environmental damages caused by the illegal dumping of construction waste near Garage Cooperative No. 89 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The debris was generated during the execution of a contract to demolish a residential apartment building located at 9 Ryabikovskaya Street in the regional capital.

Investigations revealed that the demolition work was conducted with significant violations – specifically, the contractor failed to implement required safety measures and illegally disposed of 98 tons of unsorted construction waste at an unauthorized site. Following these findings, administrative proceedings have been initiated against the contractor under the Kamchatka Krai law on administrative offenses.

The total environmental impact of the unauthorized dumping is calculated at 30 million rubles. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, which will include a formal legal assessment to determine whether criminal charges should be brought against the responsible individuals.
