The youth session of the Ecosystem. Protected Territory forum recently concluded in Kamchatka, bringing together 300 young environmentalists, scientists, and activists from across Russia. These participants collaborated to develop sustainable infrastructure and safety projects specifically designed for Khalaktyrsky Beach.
During the event, specialized working groups addressed various regional needs. The ecotourism group proposed improved navigation systems, a shuttle service, and the establishment of the Gamuls Trail. The ecotechnologies team designed an environmental monitoring system alongside automated lockers for equipment. Additionally, the eco-education group developed a volunteer headquarters for emergency situations and a comprehensive tsunami response map. The local beach administration plans to implement all these proposed initiatives.
The forum, organized jointly by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs – Rosmolodezh – and the government of the Kamchatka Territory, also served as a venue to recognize environmental initiatives. Within this framework, organizers awarded the winners of specialized competitions sponsored by RusHydro and Rosatom.
