Four well-maintained ecotropics will appear in places popular with residents and visitors of Kamchatka by 2026. Work is also underway to create a circular health hiking trail (terrencourt) in the capital of the region, the regional legislative assembly reported.
“Currently, work on the creation of ecological trails is underway in several directions, including with the funds raised from the federal budget. The Ministry of Tourism of the Kamchatka Territory, together with the administration of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka Nature Park, are creating four ecological trails: “Towards the Ocean”, to the Blue Lakes, as well as in the area of Avachinsky Pass and Vilyuchinsky Waterfall. Completion is planned in 2026,” the regional parliament said.
They added that the deputies of the legislative assembly are working on the creation of a circular health trail for pedestrians in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
“The project provides for the creation of a nature and recreation park with a terraced park within walking distance from seven residential districts of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. According to the initiators, it is necessary to equip a cycling and hiking trail with recreation areas, information halls, where in winter it will be possible to set up a ski track,” the press service quotes Oksana Gerasimova, chairman of the Committee on Environmental Management of the regional parliament.
