Two “black lumberjacks” in Kamchatka face 7 years in prison
Police officers in Yelizovsky district have opened a criminal case on illegal logging, the KAMCHATKA-INFORM agency was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kamchatka Territory.
The defendants are unemployed guys aged 21 and 22. They are charged with Part 3, Article 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal logging of forest plantations.”
According to police, at the beginning of this month, young people illegally cut down 47 stone birches.
“The damage from their actions exceeded 210 thousand rubles,” the department said.
If the suspects’ guilt is proven in court, each of them faces up to 7 years in prison.
