During the week, air passengers exported 2.1 tons of unmarked caviar from Kamchatka
Over the past week, air passengers transported 2.1 tons of unmarked caviar to the mainland through Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Yelizovo) International Airport, Kamchatka.Today reports.
According to the regional Rosselkhoznadzor administration, compared with a week earlier, passenger air shipments of such caviar increased by 500 kg.
On June 6, an intruder was caught at the airport. A passenger on a flight to Moscow tried to arrange two plastic buckets of salted caviar of 10 kg each in his luggage. He had to give the excess caviar to an attendant.
The ministry recalled that starting from November 1, 2022, one passenger from Kamchatka is allowed to carry no more than 10 kilograms of non-industrial red caviar in their luggage or hand luggage. The experiment was scheduled to be completed on August 1, 2025, but the ban was extended for two years. Chukotka and Khabarovsk Krai will also now be included in the experiment.
Since the introduction of restrictions in baggage and hand luggage, 466 tons of the delicacy have flown from the peninsula without the manufacturer’s label. 138 violations were detected during the transportation of caviar with a total weight of more than 1.5 tons.
