Kamchatka has defined the rules and deadlines for salmon fishing in 2025

The key parameters of the upcoming salmon harvest in 2025 have been identified in Kamchatka, and the relevant protocol has been approved by the regional commission for the regulation of anadromous fish species. It is assumed that the fishery will develop according to the usual scenario, and all the decisions taken by the commission are quite expected for the industry.

Putin is scheduled to launch on June 1 in the Aleutian Municipal District, subject to coordination of this decision with the national park “Commander Islands”, and at the same time in the Ust-Kamchatsky district in the Kamchatka River basin.

Also, from June 1, amateur salmon fishing is allowed in rivers and lakes, with the exception of the Paratunka and Avacha rivers, where such an opportunity will appear to amateur fishermen from July 5.

The members of the commission unanimously voted to impose a number of restrictions on the time of salmon fishing. A ban is being imposed on industrial and amateur salmon fishing in the Avacha Bay, including the Avacha Bay. Traditional and amateur fishing of chinook salmon and sockeye salmon is also prohibited in the Avacha Bay, including in the Avacha Bay, as well as in the Avacha and Paratunka rivers.

A ban on commercial salmon fishing in the Kamchatka River within the boundaries of the Milkovsky Municipal District is being introduced until August 25. The ban on chinook fishing in the Milkovsky and Bystrinsky municipal districts begins on August 1. In addition, industrial and traditional chinook fishing is prohibited in the West Kamchatka and Kamchatka-Kuril subzones and the basins of the rivers flowing into them.

The ban on salmon fishing in the basins of the Opala, Golygina, Koshegochek, First Yavinskaya, and Second Yavinskaya Rivers applies to industrial and traditional fishing, as well as amateur fishing using net fishing gear. Amateur chinook fishing in the Opala River basin is also prohibited.

It is recommended to use exclusively fishing gear for amateur chinook fishing in the West Kamchatka and Kamchatka-Kuril subzones and basins of flowing rivers.

It is predicted that 198,915,813 tons of salmon will be caught in Kamchatka in 2025. For comparison, last year the catch of red fish in the region reached about 130.7 thousand tons.
