“Green Spring”: BEAC launched a new season of eco-volunteerism

The All-Russian series of environmental actions “Green Spring” from the Savings Bank has started, everyone can join the marathon of caring for nature, the bank’s press service reports.

The spring marathon of caring for nature includes federal partner campaigns “Garden of Memory”, “Volga Day”, “Spring Cup of Purity of Clean Games”, which are annually supported by the BEAC, as well as its own volunteer events in the regions. This year, more than 500 activities will be held as part of the season – these are clean-up days, master classes, tree planting and eco-visits from the regional departments of the Savings Bank.

Tatiana Lipskaya, Senior Vice President for ESG at Sberbank:

“When you start communicating with participants in environmental movements, you realize what a great power lies in ordinary people. So, one of the participants of the action told a story about her native yard, which in just a month turned from an abandoned wasteland into a cozy park by the neighbors. There are thousands of similar examples, and I am proud that Sber is actively involved in such projects. Last year alone, over 50,000 employees and 150,000 customers responded to our environmental initiatives. Such actions help people feel personally responsible for the state of the environment. This is a story about how to achieve great results with little effort!”

With the support of the BEAC, as part of the international action “Garden of Memory”, volunteers will plant 80 trees each, creating Victory Alleys in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War in eight hero cities. Also, as part of the campaign, 27 million trees will be planted in memory of each deceased person. It’s easy to take part in the promotion: just find a convenient location and register.

On May 20, the BEAC will hold an environmental campaign “Tribute to the Volga on Volga Day” for the fifth year in a row. Clean-up days, garbage collection plogging competitions and other eco-activities with the participation of employees, bank customers and their families will be held in 15 cities on the banks of the Volga River. Customers of the Savings Bank will also be able to enjoy the natural beauties of the Volga River at the opening of the Volga Promenade ecotrope in Mariinsky Posad (Republic of Chuvashia). Along with the opening of the trail, a clean-up day will be held, in which everyone can take part. The announcement of this and other activities can be found in the calendar on the “Saving Together” platform.

From April 25 to May 25, the Spring Purity Cup will be held — team diving competitions in 38 localities of the country. Anyone can find a game in their city and sign up to participate in the “Saving Together” calendar of events, as well as on the Clean Games website.

Also on May 31, the BEAC will hold the traditional annual charity run “Green Marathon”, which will include volunteer and eco-activities in 60 cities of Russia.

The Save Together platform helps users to participate in volunteer, charitable, environmental and social initiatives throughout the country. The resource contains useful information on such topical topics as health, nature, lifestyle, caring for family and others, and in the “Always around” section, visitors to the platform will be able to find detailed information about the initiatives of the Savings Bank. In 2024, the project “Saving Together” was highly appreciated by experts of the National Award “Our Contribution”.
