Fisheries Patrols Apprehend 17 Violators in Kamchatka Waterways

Fisheries enforcement officers in Kamchatka apprehended 17 violators during patrols of local waterways between October 19 and 26. Operations resulted in the confiscation of 9.9 kilograms of illegally harvested fish alongside eight pieces of unauthorized fishing equipment. No criminal cases were initiated for the unlawful extraction of biological resources during this timeframe.

The most frequent infractions recorded over the week involved breaches of fishing and habitat protection regulations, non-compliance with commercial activity rules, and evasion of administrative penalties. Enforcement efforts on regional water bodies remain active – despite the conclusion of the Pacific salmon fishing season – as seven operational task forces and two stationary checkpoints continue to monitor the area to suppress poaching activities.
