During routine control measures, several illegal fishing nets were discovered in the water protection zone of Lake Bolshaya Medvezhka in Kamchatka. The seized equipment includes a single net measuring 86 meters in length with an area of 473 square meters, along with five additional nets totaling 191 meters in length and covering 730 square meters. Another net, measuring 150 meters in length, was found containing nearly 150 salmon.
None of the discovered fishing gear bore any identification markings. The absence of such labeling constitutes a severe violation – a direct breach of the current fishing regulations for the Far Eastern Fishery Basin. An administrative investigation has been initiated into the incident, and authorities are currently determining whether to transfer the case materials to law enforcement agencies for further legal action.
