Environmental Patrols Uncover 16 Violations in Kamchatka Nature Parks

Between July 11 and 12, state inspectors conducted environmental patrols across the Vilyuchinsky and South Kamchatka nature parks within the Volcanoes of Kamchatka network. The operation aimed to ensure compliance with protected area regulations and verify that visitors possessed the required entry permits.

The inspections focused on popular tourist routes, specifically the trails at Vilyuchinsky Volcano, Gorely Volcano, and Opasny Canyon. During the two-day operation, officials recorded 16 violations of the special environmental protection regime – the most frequent infraction involved visitors parking vehicles outside officially designated zones.

Environmental regulations strictly prohibit driving motorized transport onto the slopes of Gorely Volcano and parking in unauthorized locations. To minimize ecological impact and preserve the fragile volcanic landscape, all visitors are required to leave their vehicles exclusively within established parking facilities.
