Kamchatka recycling company fined for environmental violations
Kamchatka Phoenix LLC, which processes recyclable materials, including used tires, has been fined for environmental violations, the Kamchatka-INFORM agency was informed by the prosecutor’s office of the Kamchatka Territory.
The supervisory authority has verified information about the contamination of a land plot with industrial and consumer waste in the area of landfill No. 1 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
“It turned out that Fenix LLC, when disposing of sorted materials, polluted the land with waste from dismantling reinforced concrete and wooden structures, processing wood, and used car tires by placing them on the ground outside a specially equipped paved area, on a site designed to accommodate a recycling point,” the prosecutor’s office said.
According to the results of the prosecutor’s inspection, the legal entity was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 8.7 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with established requirements and mandatory measures to prevent negative environmental impacts that worsen the quality of land) with a fine of 300 thousand rubles.
The supervisory authority promises to control the elimination of foci of unauthorized garbage disposal.
The resolution has not entered into force.
