Spring bear and bird hunting opens in Kamchatka

The spring hunting season for brown bears, waterfowl and stone grouse starts in the region, the regional Ministry of Forestry and Hunting told Kamchatka.Today.

The brown bear hunt will begin on April 11. It will last until June 10th. About 24.5 thousand bears live in the hunting grounds of the region. Approximately 700 individuals are harvested annually. Most of them are shot during spring hunting.

On April 26 and 27, hunting for waterfowl (geese and ducks) will start in Yelizovsky district, Ust-Bolsheretsky and Bystrinsky districts, later in other municipalities; on May 10 – for stone grouse.

The hunting period is 10 days. During the season, you can get one stone grouse and 20 geese. Ducks are allowed to shoot up to 10 per day.

Hunters are invited to the Ministry of Forest Hunting of the region to obtain permits for hunting in publicly accessible hunting grounds.
