The Kronotsky Nature Reserve summed up the results of participation in the sixth forum of sustainable tourism “Travel!”, which was held in Kamchatka. The staff of the reserve shared their experience with colleagues from other regions of Russia and discussed with potential partners the possibilities of cooperation in various fields. It was about attracting financing for environmental projects, training guides, as well as creating interactive expositions dedicated to the nature and history of the Kamchatka Nature Reserve.

Vsevolod Yakovlev, Acting Director of the Kronotsky State Nature Reserve, noted that sustainable development is the most important principle and key to the well-being of specially protected natural territories, as well as the entire Kamchatka Territory. He stressed that the preservation of protected lands and water areas in the context of the development of ecological tourism is the task of all departments of the institution. Therefore, the entire team of the reserve participated in the forum, including financiers, the chief engineer and employees responsible for environmental education.

The Forum of Sustainable Tourism has been held in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky since 2020 with the participation of the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory and the regional government.
