Authorities in Kamchatka have established hunting quotas and extraction limits for all designated hunting grounds across the region. The hunting season for brown bears, snow sheep, and wolves officially commenced on August 1.
Based on recent population surveys of regional wildlife, specific extraction limits have been set for various game species. The approved quotas dictate the maximum allowable harvest for each animal population – specifically 15,024 sables, 3,443 brown bears, 960 moose, 496 snow sheep, 108 otters, and 89 lynxes.
Individuals seeking to participate in the hunting season must obtain the appropriate legal documentation. Permits for public hunting areas are issued directly by the regional Ministry of Forestry and Hunting, while authorizations for assigned commercial grounds – privately managed wildlife areas – must be secured through the respective local operators.
