In Kamchatka, work continues on the organization of sites for amateur fishing. They can be used to catch not only salmon, but also other types of fish, according to the Ministry of Fisheries of the Kamchatka Territory.
“In accordance with the norms of federal legislation, citizens have the right to carry out amateur fishing on public water bodies freely and free of charge, outside the borders assigned to users of fishing areas. The exception is fishing in relation to aquatic biological resources, the fishing of which is limited by the Rules of fishing, including in relation to Pacific salmon, which are fished only in licensed areas according to permits. To date, 116 fishing sites for amateur fishing have been organized in the region,” said Pavel Buryak, a researcher at the Fisheries department of the Ministry of Fisheries of the Kamchatka Territory.
According to him, not only Pacific salmon can be caught in licensed fishing areas — you can purchase a permit to catch crabs, pollock, halibut, cod, terpugs, smelt and char. The volume of aquatic biological resources allocated in 2024 for amateur fishing in fishing areas exceeds 1.1 thousand tons.
Information about fishing sites, as well as places where vouchers are sold, can be found on the website of the Ministry of Fisheries of the Kamchatka Territory in the “Amateur fishing” section. Upon presentation of a passport with a local residence permit, a discount is provided for the purchase of a license.
