Spring hunting for bears and birds opens in Kamchatka

The spring hunting season for brown bears, waterfowl and stone grouse begins in the Kamchatka Territory, the press service of the regional government reports.

Hunters are invited to the Ministry of Forestry of the Kamchatka Territory to obtain permits for the extraction of hunting resources in publicly accessible hunting grounds. Brown bear, males of waterfowl (goose, ducks) and wild game (capercaillie) are allowed to be hunted in the spring.

“The start of the spring hunt will be given this Friday, April 11, with a hunt for a brown bear. This year, following numerous requests from hunting users and municipal administrations, the start dates of spring hunting for waterfowl have changed to earlier ones in most areas of the Kamchatka Territory. You can apply for a permit in person at the Ministry of Forestry of the Kamchatka Territory, through the portal of public services and at any branch of the MFC. In order to save time, we recommend that you determine the hunting location in advance and specify the start and end dates of the season. Information can be obtained from the Department of the State Hunting Register by calling +7 (4152) 25-83-74,” said Yulia Polkanova, consultant at the Department of Licensing and the State Hunting Register.

On April 11, brown bear hunting will begin in the Kamchatka Territory; on April 26 and 27 — waterfowl in Yelizovsky district, Ust-Bolsheretsky and Bystrinsky districts, later in other municipalities; on May 10 — stone grouse.

More detailed hunting dates for various types of hunting resources for specific territories can be found on the agency’s website at the link.
