The annual autumn campaign for the collection of used automobile tires begins in Kamchatka on October 12. Collection points are located at two addresses: 1 Tundrovaya Street in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and 20/1 Molodezhnaya Street in the Novy settlement of the Yelizovsky district. The facilities operate on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 with a scheduled break from 13:00 to 14:00, and on Saturdays – from 10:00 to 13:00 without interruption. The centers remain closed on Sundays.
Participants receive 50 rubles and 50 bonus points in the local KAMball social system for each tire submitted. There are no restrictions on the number of tires an individual can turn in. All collected tires are sent for recycling to produce crumb rubber. This secondary raw material is utilized in the development of public spaces – specifically for creating rubberized surfaces at playgrounds, sports facilities, and pedestrian zones.
During the paid tire collection campaigns last year, motorists recycled approximately 110,000 tires. Over 67,000 units were collected in the spring and nearly 43,000 in the autumn. In total, local residents earned around 5.5 million rubles through this environmental initiative.
