Kamchatka fish inspectors caught poachers with a catch of 600 thousand rubles

On July 15, in Yelizovsky district, fish inspectors detained two illegal fishing enthusiasts during a raid, reported Kamchatka.Today in SVTU FAR.
The poachers conducted “fishing” on the Avacha and Pinachevskaya rivers using a boat with an outboard motor and a floating net. The fishermen managed to catch 26 sockeye salmon tails with a total weight of 70.2 kg and one chinook weighing 4.6 kg. The amount of damage caused to aquatic biological resources exceeds 623 thousand rubles.
The boat, net and illegally obtained red fish were seized. The case materials have been sent to the police for a decision to initiate criminal proceedings under Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources).
The SVTU recalled a dachshund for poachers. For one specimen of illegally extracted sockeye salmon, regardless of size and weight, they will have to pay 11575, chinook and coho salmon – 10635, chum salmon – 2009, pink salmon – 961, char – 925 rubles. The damage calculation fee for 1 kg of red caviar is 27,455 rubles.
