In the Milkovsky district on the Kozyrevka River, police officers detained a pensioner who was illegally fishing for red fish as part of Operation Putin-2025, the regional department of the Interior Ministry told Kamchatka.Today.

A 69-year-old man caught seven sockeye salmon tails and one chinook with a net from an Argonaut inflatable boat, weighing almost 18 kilograms. The damage caused to aquatic biological resources exceeded 183 thousand rubles.

The fish, boat and net were seized. A case was opened against the man under Part 1 of Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources). A resident of Chela Atlasovo faces a large fine or imprisonment for up to two years.
