The government of the region and the administration of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky are working to prevent the ingress of household waste into the storm sewer system and the subsequent complete cleaning of Lake Kultuchnoye, the mayor’s office told Kamchatka.Today.
Last fall, the administration of the regional center began work on identifying illegal taps into the storm sewer system, the end points of which are Lake Kultuchnoye, and their elimination.
MCU “Highway Service” has prepared auction documentation to identify a contractor for the provision of services for the technical inspection of real estate and non-residential housing in the city district to identify illegal tie-ins and the technical condition of the house, inner-block, and storm sewers in the Lake Kultuchnoye basin.
The main purpose will be to determine the technical condition of the storm drainage system (detection of unauthorized tie-ins). The information obtained from the survey results will be the object of the work of specialists to eliminate illegal ones.
In parallel, the design of the storm sewer system for the Kultuchnoye Lake treatment facilities, including sewage treatment plants, is underway.
In order to avoid penalties, the city administration urges citizens and legal entities, if there are independent taps and discharges of household waste into the storm sewer system, to contact specialized organizations to eliminate them and reconnect networks in accordance with sanitary and environmental requirements.
