Kamchatka poachers will pay 150,000 rubles for 33 salmon
In Ust-Bolsheretsk, the court found two men guilty of illegal salmon fishing, Kamchatka.Today reports.
In July last year, they set up a 100-meter net in the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk from a motor rubber boat “Titan”. The men were caught choosing a catch by border guards.
The poachers managed to get 25 mullets and 8 pieces of chum salmon. The damage amounted to almost 611 thousand rubles.
The court found the men guilty under Part 3 of Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources).
Taking into account the compensation for damages, dependent young children and other mitigating circumstances, the illegal fishermen were fined 150,000 rubles each. The boat has been confiscated.
